Resident Instructor (Seniors) David McNab
Resident Instructors (Juniors) Scott Graham & Forbes Walker
The Glenrothes Ju-Jitsu Club was established in 1973 and has seen many members in its time. We now train the children and in some cases the grandchildren of past members and we all remain keen to look for and always encourage new practioners to join in.
For senior instructors there is a particular satisfaction and enjoyment in helping beginners to develop as students of martial arts; to gain skills and confidence in unarmed combat and ultimately to become Black Belts in the Japanese martial art of Ju-Jitsu.
Classes are given by Instructors of the highest quality and the club is the home 'dojo' of the Chief Instructor, Sensei John McNab 6th Dan who regularly teaches and trains at the club. There are a significant number of black belts currently training and teaching in the Club, all with at least four to five years or above experience as practitioners of Ju-Jitsu.
It is worthy of note that, as in all SJJS clubs, no instructor is paid for these classes and the fees taken are at a level which pays for hiring of the hall and the purchase of equipment for use by the students. The current fee is for an adult is £3.00 if employed £1.50 for unemployed or in full-time education and for Juniors £1.50. There is no fee for spectating.
The First Training Session is FREE ( loose clothing advised, T Shirt / Tracksuit bottoms no footwear) and the only other immediate commitment is that:
A licence, known as a Budo Pass, is required for all Students and costs: Seniors £ 15.00 per annum Juniors £ 10.50 per annum (under review)
If interested, don't telephone, just turn up at any of the sessions and speak to the nearest student or instructor for information. All respectful martial art students, from whatever discipline, are welcome to train as students or visitors.
